Our volunteers often join us after graduation, their direction still unclear. Or they have entered the working world but have not found satisfaction. Many come for a gap year they planned for all along. We also welcome families looking for their next adventure together.
In just a year, Camphill volunteers are transformed by new clarity, purpose, and self-assurance.
With the guidance of experienced mentors, you will progress along your path of self-development, challenging yourself to push beyond your limits and discover all that lives in you.

Steward the Land and Grow Food
Immerse yourself in biodynamics on a well-established farm, supported by a thriving community. We have opportunities for everyone – beginner or expert – to grow your skills and commitment to regenerative agriculture. You’ll be mentored by experienced farmers and gardeners and can become a mentor yourself.
Create Beauty
Explore your creativity and connection to the arts in Camphill. Opportunities abound: felting, painting, acting, singing, bookbinding, and so much more. With hands-on practice under the guidance of mentors, you dive right in, and by the end of your year, you’ll be leading others in learning.
Care for People
In Camphill, you learn what it takes to build inclusive community. You will see when to offer support and when to step aside to create space for growth. We take a holistic approach to caring for each other. Our volunteers tell us time and again that one thing they learn in Camphill – how to really see other people and themselves – is something they carry for the rest of their lives.

Many Paths To a Life Without Student Debt
In Camphill, we believe everyone should be free to learn without worrying about student debt. And we put our money where our mouth is, whether that’s a community fellowship for Camphill Academy students seeking a debt-free college degree — or our College Loan Support Program for volunteers with student debt.
We know that supporting education supports our communities and all the people who call them home, so we make it a priority.
