Explore Your Path

When you live in Camphill you learn to see past disability to human potential and become more in touch with your own.

Our volunteers often join us after graduation, their direction still unclear. Or they have entered the working world but have not found satisfaction. Many come for a gap year they planned for all along. We also welcome families looking for their next adventure together.

In just a year, Camphill volunteers are transformed by new clarity, purpose, and self-assurance.

With the guidance of experienced mentors, you will progress along your path of self-development, challenging yourself to push beyond your limits and discover all that lives in you.

“We think we are here to help people with special needs, but you know, for the most part, it’s always the other way around. The longer you are in Camphill, the more you begin to realize it’s a two-way street.”

By embracing the challenges and joys of Camphill life, you will not only support but truly share in the daily lives of people with disabilities. As you find your place in a diverse intentional community, caring for the land and learning artisan trades such as woodworking, weaving, and baking, you will develop bonds that extend beyond your year of service.

“Being immersed in community gave me the chance to build so many beautiful relationships, many of which will last for the rest of my life. I learned how to communicate with other people – how to recognize the needs of others as well as my own.”

Solutions to Student Debt

Many Paths To a Life Without Student Debt

In Camphill, we believe everyone should be free to learn without worrying about student debt. And we put our money where our mouth is, whether that’s a community fellowship for Camphill Academy students seeking a debt-free college degree — or our College Loan Support Program for volunteers with student debt.

We know that supporting education supports our communities and all the people who call them home, so we make it a priority.
